Pinnacle is MTSU’s chapter of the national Pinnacle Honor Society for nontraditional students, generally over the age of 25. Our MTSU chapter makes exceptions for students with adult responsibilities who are not yet 25. In addition to the 3.0 GPA required for undergraduates (3.4 for graduate students), Pinnacle looks at previous community service, volunteer work, and honors which the student has earned in life. Please find more information at: https://jac.mtsu.edu/pinn/
Tau Sigma is MTSU’s chapter of the national Tau Sigma Honor Society, recognizing the academic achievement of the most outstanding transfer students nationwide. Student must have transferred in with at least one year’s worth of academic credits, have completed at least 12 credits at MTSU, and achieve EITHER a 3.5 GPA or were in the top 20% of ALL incoming transfers during the term they transferred/completed 12 credits. The MTSU Power of One Office empowers students to take a stand for what is right on campus. By reaching out to every Blue Raider, we will end power-based violence (dating violence/domestic violence/ sexual assault/stalking) and increase students’ confidence to speak up when they see a lack of inclusion. Every student has the power to make our campus a safer place; every student has the opportunity to be the Power of One. Please find more information at: https://powerof1.mtsu.edu/
MTSU’s National Women’s History Month programming recognizes, promotes, and celebrates women’s contributions and causes by providing education and entertainment from a feminist perspective that emphasizes cultural transformation to achieve social justice and women’s empowerment. Please find more information on NWHM Programming at: https://jac.mtsu.edu/nwhm/
Additionally, awards are given to those who embody each year’s theme of National Women’s History Month. Please find more information on the annual Trailblazer Awards at: https://jac.mtsu.edu/nwhm-trailblazers/
At the June Anderson Center for Women and Nontraditional Students, we understand the additional level of responsibility our students with dependents have. There are many resources we offer to those who may need additional assistance due to their status as having dependents. The June Anderson Center hosts a lactation space on the 3rd Floor of the Student Union Building. It is located in Room 332, around the corner from the restrooms. Please slide the marker located outside the door so that others know that a chair is in use. We have three chairs, each with a curtain for your privacy. There is also a sink located in the room. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding our lactation space, please feel free to stop into the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (STU 330) or email us at jacwns@mtsu.edu.
There is also a lactation space located in ACB (Academic Classroom Building), however this space is not maintained by the June Anderson Center.
While supplies last, the June Anderson Center stocks the Student Union 3rd floor Women’s Restroom with feminine hygiene products. Please inquire in the JAC (STU 330) if you are in need of products.
